Shah Rukh Khan's closing line in the stunning 'Dulha Mil Gaya' promo and advertisement says it all, with the film slated to hit cinemas worldwide January 2010. The grand canvas and scale with scorching deep magenta colours stands out from the clutter around, and the dialogues and music in the promo promise an entertainer that will give 2010 a great beginning the the box office. Delays have plagued the release of 'Dulha Mil Gaya', initially, the film was delayed due to Shah Rukh Khan's makeover for 'Om Shanti Om'. The actor who was to do an extended guest appearance in his friend Viveck Vaswani's movie, which then became a more fleshed out guest appearance, with a key Qawalli that is something to watch out for, sources indicate.
Even after SRK allotted dates for the movie, he managed to injure his shoulder during a critical sequence shot for the film, thus causing a further delay. Finally, the movie, which stars Sushmita Sen, Fardeen Khan and Ishita Sharma, has been completed and is all set for release, but only after some more delay. Earlier, the movie was to release this year and would be SRK's solo release this year, but now all the delays have succeeded in pushing off the film's release till next year. But the real reason behind the delay is actually because 'Dulha Mil Gaya' is quite similar to Yash Raj's 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', though with a twist. When SRK got to know of this, he preferred to complete the Yashraj movie first, though it was slated to be later, and only then he alloted dates for 'Dulha Mil Gaya', which sees him playing Sushmita's love interest in the movie. Sushmita's character is believed to be quite similar to Vinay Sharma's role in Rab Ne. She helps the protagonist played by Ishita Arun, to reinvent herself, by giving her a makeover, which even her boyfriend cannot see through. All of this finally explains SRK's reluctance to shoot for Vaswani's movie. Also, when SRK had agreed to do the movie, he had a small guest appearance, but now it seems that his role has been extended to almost an hour of screen time in the second half, very much like Aamir Khan's second half in 'Taare Zameen Par'.
But from the looks of the films jhalak and poster, looks like this delay will not adversely affect the film's fate at the box office.
