And to think that everybody thought that Farah Khan was Shah Rukh Khan's special director and would never direct anyone else beside him. One really wouldn't be mistaken for having held that belief, as both the films that Farah as directed, 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om', were not only produced by SRk but also starred him in the lead.
Farah was all set to make it three in a row with 'Happy New Year' for SRK, but the script seems to have changed suddenly. According to the latest, Farah's next film will not be for SRK's production house but for her own. It seems that Farah is finally ready to cut the umbilical cord with her good friend SRK and start her own production house in partnership with her husband Shirish Kunder. But the most significant part of this move is that Farah will now be directing Akshay Kumar in the maiden film for her production house. Guess it may have a lot to do with Shirish's equation with SRK, which may well be non existent. For all Farah's closeness to SRK, she could do nothing about getting SRK and her husband to work together. But now, it seems that the husband and wife are getting their act together and deciding to be partners in business as well. The script of this movie, which has been written by Shrish himself, is called 'Tees Maar Khan'. A while back, Shirish was looking to make this film on his own. But now he has done the sensible thing and handed the reins over to his wife. So Farah will now be directing 'Tees Maar Khan', with Akshay playing the lead, while Shirish will be jointly producing the movie along with Akshay's production house, Hari Om Productions. Akshay was a part of Shirish's maiden film, 'Jaaneman', hence he shares a very good rapport with him. The husband wife duo are now on the lookout for a female lead for Akshay. As for 'Happy New Year', it seems that there is not even a script in place for the movie. Anyway, it seems SRK has blessed Farah's new venture. Guess, he's realized that it's best to let go with a smile.
