Filmmaker Shandar Amrohi may see a "spiritual daughter" in actor Preity Zinta but her "involvement" in the property dispute that has sprung within the family is now limited to her tweets and "moral support"
While Amrohi claims she will be the legal heir to his property, her name doesn't feature anywhere in the documents pertaining to Mahal Pictures Pvt Ltd
Though Zinta accompanied Amrohi to the police station, his application does not mention her name. "She is neither his relative nor an accused and after investigation we surmised she is not a witness either. We didn't call her for investigation purposes to the police station, she accompanied Amrohi in her personal capacity," said DCP Prasanna.
Amrohi had submitted an application to the Khar police last week demanding the arrest of his sister Rukhsar and her son Waseem for alleged theft and forgery of 3,500 share certificates owned by him and a fraudulent transfer of those in their names. Before registering a case, the police had insisted on an investigation as it appeared to be a civil case. Zinta had then tweeted about the "delay" in the registration of the FIR.
Amrohi filed a civil suit against Rukhsar and Waseem in the High Court on Friday. Though this time Zinta was not present personally, nor was her name included in the suit, her spokesperson Inder Malik was with Amrohi in court
