It's a patriotic twist gone awry. And it's not a Preity picture. Zinta and Ness Wadia are trapped in the vortex of a politcal maelstrom.
The owners of the 'Punjab XI Kings' team, Zinta and Wadia have been issued notices by a Chandigarh court for allegedly misusing the names of freedom fighters to attract IPL attention.
A prickly ad of the Zinta team featuring the names of Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, has raised hackles on the political front and has the moral brigade up in arms against Zinta and Wadia.
Abhey Singh Sandhu, nephew of the late freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, has taken express objection to the offending ad, which he describes as a "cheap publicity stunt."
Sandhu, together with Arvind Thakur, chairperson of the Global Human Rights Council and Vijay Singh Bharadwaj of the VHP are determined to bring a permanent injunction for restraining the team from using the names of the freedom fighters to gain selfish publicity.
