Rahul Bose, long revered as the "multilplex hero", will soon be spotted in Aparna Sen's 'The Japanese Wife' wherein he shares screen space with Raima Sen.
"Raima was right for the part of the young widow, because her face has a certain peace and sadness, and Rahul was my first choice since I've worked with him before and have a great equation with him."
Reportedly, daughter Konkona Sen Sharma was highly unconvinced of Bose being cast in the lead role of Snehamoy in her mom's sensitive flick.
"She told her mom that I would never be able to pull off this character," reveals Bose in a tabloid chat. "Snehamoy is nothing like I have ever done before. Riding a cycle in the hot sun wearing a 'dhoti' was really something."
Adds Bose with a merry twinkle, "Konkona saw the film recently and complimented me. She also called it her mother's best film. 'If you have a heart, you'll like it,' were her actual words." Hearty praise, Bose.
