Vivek Oberoi has done many daring stunts for his film Prince Becuz three leading ladies in the film who took care of him

Vivek Oberoi has done many daring stunts for his film "Prince - It's Showtime", but when it came to intimate scenes, it was his three leading ladies in the film who took "care" of him.

"It's been a dream to work with three lovely ladies together. I had a really good experience working with them but, while shooting the intimate scenes, I was way too shy and felt awkward, " Vivek told in an interview.

"All through the movie you will see me doing brave stunts. While shooting the action sequences, when they were scared I took care of them, but while sharing intimacy I was taken under confidence by them saying: 'Don't worry, we will take care of you'. Which left me embarrassed but it was sweet of them to help me get through, " he added.

The 33-year-old, who shares an intimate kissing scene with model-turned-actress Aruna Shields in the film, says he had to do several retakes to get it right.

"It was our first ever intimate kissing scene and both of us were jittery, which led to too many retakes as it was not looking natural, " he said.

Directed by debutant Kooki Gulati, the film is about a quick-witted thief who wakes up one morning to realise that he has a gunshot on his arm and has absolutely no clue about how he got it because he has lost his memory.

Vivek, who has lost 12 kilos for the film, will be seen doing daring stunts in the film that needed rigorous physical training.

"I was a bit nervous doing some daredevil stunts in my film, which I had never done before. 'Prince...' is my first action film and will showcase me in a new avatar. It's a story that could be every man's fantasy and every man's nightmare, " he said.

"I have given my life, literally, for getting myself prepared for the stunts that are all done by me without substitutes and it increased the risk factor. I had to undergo five months' physical training, which included skate-boarding, stunt biking, cable training, marshal arts, kicks and punches.

I have jumped from a 32-storied building to a 28- storied building and that too on a bike, " he said.

"All the action scenes have been shot in Hollywood style which the audience will see for the first time, " Vivek added.

Even though the cast and crew of the film boasts of a number of newcomers starting from the director, the three female actresses, Aruna Shields, Nandana Sen and Niroo Singh, to music composer Sachin Gupta, Vivek doesn't take it as a baggage but instead as an opportunity.

"Yes you can say I am carrying the film on my shoulders with all the others being newcomers. But I don't take it as a burden; instead it's been an opportunity to nourish, explore myself better, " he said.

Vivek said that the change in appearance and choice of roles are a deliberate effort on his part.

"My look and role in movies like 'Kurbaan', 'Shootout At Lokhandwala', 'Prince' and even in future projects are very different from the other and that is my effort to evolve as a versatile actor and not get tagged in one genre, " he added.

Vivek is currently working on Ram Gopal Varma's "Rakta Charitra" and has two other films in the pipeline

Vivek Oberoi was one of the Swami's disciples and had been his follower after his aunt introduced him to the spiritual guru.

After the Swami Nityanand sex scandal thickened with the emergence of another sleaze video showing the Swami with Tamil actress Yuvarani, a majority of his disciples, both from Bollywood and the South Indian film industries, have been trying to disassociate themselves from him.

Vivek Oberoi was one of the Swami's disciples and had been his follower from 2005, after his aunt introduced him to the spiritual guru. Now, Vivek too is trying to distance himself from the Swami.

According to sources, Vivek had been meeting the Swami regularly for a few years now. He, like all of the Swami's believers, was shocked when the scandal emerged.

Vivek had been floored by the Swami when he first met him because he found it surprising that someone who was as young as Nithyanand could be an influential spiritual leader.

Vivek had nicknamed Nithyanand 'cool dude swami'. He mainly met the Swami at the latter's ashram in Bidadi, near Bangalore. He also kept in touch with him through phone and text messages.

Vivek admits that he had a wonderful learning experience at the spiritual workshop at the ashram. He states that he has only met the Swami twice though. The actor doesn't wish to comment on the scandal until everything is clear.

Vivek Oberoi has come up with a spanking new lexicon for the action sequences. "I'd say the stunts are 'glocal',"

It's time for some royal publicity as 'Prince' readies to earn the spotlight. Armed with jaw dropping stunts and awesome special effects, the Tips flick promos have generated a buzz and inspired interest amongst the viewers.
Producer Kumar Taurani is supremely sanguine of the movie's outcome. "For the first time, Indian audiences will see a Bollywood movie that has all the technical finesse and opulence of a Hollywood action thriller," asserts Taurani in a media chat.
Male lead Vivek Oberoi has come up with a spanking new lexicon for the action sequences. "I'd say the stunts are 'glocal'," Oberoi told the media. "Meaning it has the best of global technology, while it also will great appeal for local audiences. Director Kookie Gulati, action director Allan Amin, Kumar Taurani and myself have gone all out to ensure that 'Prince' is an edge of the seat thriller."
Five and a half months of agile training under a martial arts trainer from Thailand, a parkour trainer from England and Amin prepared Oberoi for the demanding action scenes ahead.
A chest thumping Oberoi declares, "We didn't shoot anything against a chroma screen. All those death defying stunts that you see, whether it is jumping off high rises, eye popping motorbike chases or helicopter scenes have all been done live."
Kudos, Oberoi.

Vivek Oberoi-starrer "Prince". He is releasing it simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, not taking the IPL threat seriously

prince

Producer Kumar Taurani is pulling out all stops for his next film, the Vivek Oberoi-starrer "Prince". He is releasing it simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, not taking the IPL threat seriously.
"According to my report, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has not had the same craze this year as it had enjoyed in the last two seasons, " Taurani told.
"The second thing is our film is coming in the middle of the series. What we calculated is that the IPL craze is at its peak in the first two weeks and during finals; so there will be a dull period in between when we will release our film.
"We started the promotional work much earlier. We showed the first promo during 'Ajab Prem...' so that we and the audience could connect with 'Prince' when it is released," he said.
"I think we will cross 1, 000-plus prints and we are releasing the film across the globe. We are going big time.
Directed by Kookie V. Gulati, the film is releasing April 9.
It narrates the story of a thief who wakes up one morning to realise that he has lost his memory and his life is at stake. Apart from Vivek, it also features Nandana Sen, Aruna Shields and Neeru Singh.
"We are dubbing the film in Tamil and Telugu and we are really going for a very good quality. We are working hard on it. Every thing, be it music or songs, we are releasing simultaneously and we are also promoting it well in those territories, " Kumar told.
Talking about the title of the movie, he said: "The name 'Prince' was not available with me, it was with Eagle Films. I repeatedly pleaded with them to give me the rights. My lead character's name is Prince and so I couldn't leave the title.
" 'It's Show Time' was my tag line and it's still there. So I released the first promo as 'Prince - It's Show Time'. Ultimately we were able to convince them and got the rights for this name, " said Kumar.
This is the first time that Kumar is associating his name with a film.
"See we are two brothers. We have one company, TIPS. Till 'Race' we used to make films together. Then we thought if we make two divisions, we will be able to concentrate on making more than one film at a time. Ramesh (Taurani) gave his name to 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and I made this one," he said.
"I am new in the production business. Earlier, I used to handle music, marketing and promotion and distribution. I never did shooting. This time I was fully involved, right from the beginning. I did the distribution of 'Ajab...' worldwide. At end of the day, it's a TIPS film, " he added.
Asked if he was going to dub or subtitle the film for the overseas release, he said: "See this is very much a Bollywood film filled with all the 'masalas'. This is an absolute entertainer and primarily targets Asians across the globe."
Kumar's hands are full with projects for two years.
"There are two-three projects I am planning to work on. One among them will be again with Kookie Gulati, who is one of the directors of the company. I have signed Rajkumar Santoshi for another one. I plan to make these movies in the next two years," he said.
